REED Finance are pleased to be recruiting for a Finance Manager for a successful higher education organisation based in the heart of Liverpool.

Our client is an internationally recognised leader in their field.  So with new investment they have now created a fantastic new role as part of the senior management team.   

The successful candidate will lead a team to provide cohesive and corporate oversight, control and delivery of financial project management for all awarded grants and contracts. 

Within this role you will be required to do:
- Management of the team's workload distribution, ensuring satisfactory task completion.
- Ability to undertake appraisals and implement appropriate development plans.
- Work closely with other Senior Finance Manager to ensure cohesive delivery across the two teams. 
- Overall oversight of all grants to ensure financial delivery, financial accountability and maximisation of resources.
- Implement and maintain appropriate corporate reporting.
- Preparation and production of monthly management reports.
- Ensuring all systems and processes are adhered to by the team and maintain evidence of compliance and dissemination when required by audit.
- Agree grant close our finalisation, reallocation of costs and maximisation of core costs for implementation by the team.
- Preparation and production of financial reports on the performance of the SLA at regular intervals throughout the financial year for internal and committee presentation.

Skills and Experience Required but not limited too:
-  Successful candidate must have a chartered accountant qualification (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA< ACA)
- Experience working in a higher education or a similar research and development environment
- Senior management experience
- Financial awareness with experience of managing and reporting on budgets and financial narrative reporting
- Ability to identify problem areas quickly and recomments solutions to meet business needs
