Working for this service, you will be part of a close knit team who support each other to meet targets and deliver outcomes. You are expected to undertake robust quality and assurance checking to ensure high levels of accuracy and subsidy maximisation. You will be expected to liaise with Housing and other departments to give accurate advice on Housing Benefit and Welfare reform. You must be able to accurately calculate payments and over payments ensuring that Housing Benefit regulations have been applied correctly.
You will need to be hardworking and flexible with the ability to manage your own workload and respond effectively to changing priorities. You should be able to demonstrate significant, recent knowledge of the administration, working practices and procedures of Housing and Council Tax Benefit as well as having experience in checking claims and calculations in this area. You are expected to speak with members of the Public in a professional manner under all circumstances. Previous use of various databases including Northgate will support your application.
