Our client an international bank based in Central London with great prestige is seeking an ambitious HR Manager to join and steer HR for their newly created division, reporting directly to senior management.

What does the role entail?

As HR Manager you will be directly responsible for the training and development of a HR Advisor and indirectly responsible for 3 other staff members within HR who are a part of a shared service including a Payroll Officer. You will look after a very generalist remit creating and amending policies and procedures as legislation changes, ensuring appraisals are carried out, although not often - looking after the full spectrum of ER, leading, coaching and advising managers through issues to resolution as they arise, as well as some involvement in recruitment and apprenticeships and regular Auditing of the bank. This is not an exhaustive list and other generalist HR duties will be applicable to the role.

What skills will you have?

You will be a talented, ambitious and eager HR Manager or Assistant Head of HR who wants to learn, develop and progress their career and will have a very generalist skillset ideally honed within the banking or financial services sector. You will have sound employment law knowledge and will be up to date with legislative changes having worked in a similar role to the one outlined above. The bank is looking for stability and growth so this role will suit someone who wants to come in and forge a career with them, with the opportunity to progress and grow available. You will enjoy working independently and be a self-motivated and autonomous individual who will need little reassurance and checking in on in the role, someone who is packed full of initiative and strives to find solutions. You will also be a confident and articulate individual able to report to senior management, an added bonus would be an understanding of SMR, the certification regime as well as the referencing and screening required, as well as ideally FCA knowledge.
