I am recruiting for a National Learning and Development Manager for a global pharmaceutical company. This is a regional role where you will work across 14 UK sites with the company’s 4500 employees and you will be based in Surrey. You must, therefore, hold a valid Driving License and have access to a vehicle. This position offers a salary of £50,000 plus a competitive benefits package, including a £5,000 car allowance, 20% bonus, healthcare and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

You will report to the HR Director and work with the Business Partners across various UK sites to design and deliver the company’s training programmes.

Duties and responsibilities include:
- Working with the Business Partners, key business leaders and the HR team to design the business’s training and development programme, including designing courses which support the business’s needs and objectives and implementing these across the business
- Ensuring documentation requested by external forces is completed in line with government requirements
- Working with the Business partners to provide first line support at the support centre and service centres
- Driving value from the Apprenticeship Levy by providing a programme for candidates that supports the business’s needs. Managing all reporting and authorisation tools, working with partnered organisations in the UK. Working with line managers to ensure apprentices are given the right level of support
- Managing external training providers which are to support delivery of training and development for specific subject areas or to specific management groups
- Liaising with relevant teams on the creation and delivery of key E-learning programmes
- Creating and managing data driven to support the business to assess return on investment of learning initiatives which support and improve the overall development culture


The ideal candidate must have the following:
- L&D experience within a medium to large organisation in a regional/national role
- Apprenticeship programme Management (desirable but not essential)
- Experience in writing reports and presenting to key stakeholders
- Capability of writing a large range of material which supports business needs
- Proven experience of working with external providers
- Ability to analyse and compile information
- An understanding of the Apprenticeship Levy
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent self-motivation and problem-solving skills
- Mobility and a willingness to travel extensively as is required and frequently stay overnight away from home
