New opportunity for a Payroll Assistant to join an SME in Epsom. This company provides services to the construction industry including Payroll Services. This is a full-time permanent position consisting of a 40-hour week, worked 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. This company offers a competitive benefits package, including 20 days paid annual leave pro-rata and healthcare after 2 years of service. This is an excellent opportunity to begin/continue a career in Accountancy, with exposure to the other areas of finance.

In this position you will report to the Financial Controller. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Processing weekly payroll using Merit (knowledge of Merit not essential)
- Collating and processing contractors’ daily/weekly hours
- Merit Reconciliation
- Handling Payroll queries
- Answering telephones
- Ordering materials for sites
- General administrative duties
- Other duties as reasonably requested

Candidate specification:
- An interest in Accounts and an Accounts career is essential
- Excellent IT and office skills are essential
- Must be organised and able to prioritise workload
- Must be a team player and prepared to assist others when the office is busy
- Must have the ability to be flexible with tasks should the demands of the role change
