Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Assistant

Hours are 0830 - 4.45pm Monday to Friday

I am currently recruiting for a client based in Coventry who are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk/Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.

You will be responsible for maintaining purchase ledgers and ensure the accuracy and completeness of recorded liabilities.

To process payments to suppliers in accordance with their trading terms
Coding and posting of purchase invoices
Process regular monthly payments to third party and suppliers.
Reconciling supplier accounts on a monthly basis
Reconciling supplier statements with corresponding accounts on ledgers and contacting suppliers in respect of any queries arising.
Ensuring refunds due are received promptly.
Maintaining the bank account reconciliations and ensuring that all cash movements are coded and posted correctly
Maintaining the petty cash system and foreign currency advance system and ensuring that all cash movements are coded and posted correctly
Providing cover for the credit controller as required
Supervising all aspects of daily work and training of the Finance Apprentice
To assist the Reporting Accountant and Finance Director with ad-hoc exercises that may arise from time to time.
To assist with reception and general administration duties as and when required

The successful candidate must have gained previous accountancy experience, ideally SAP knowledge and an understanding of Excel.
