Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Maths)

Pay rate: £20,260 - £21,402 per annum

Our REED Education FE branch are currently working with a great college on an exciting new role in the Croydon area.
The college are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant (Maths) to join them on a permanent basis.

Staff and students of our client are once again continuing the successful trend of recent years and are currently celebrating an outstanding 100% pass rate at Level 3.

The Role:

•Act as a Teaching Assistant in Maths lessons working closely with the Maths and Curriculum Coordinators and Teachers to ensure learners achieve their Maths and targets
•Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons / work plans as appropriate and support the completion of assessment points, self-reviews and learning targets
•Assist in the identification of early signs of disengagement and contribute to specific interventions to encourage the re-engagement of the learners. 
•Provide immediate cover when the need arises in priority in Maths and curriculum areas. 
•Assist individual learners, small groups or all classes in a wide range of individual activities and learning experiences such as Stretched and Challenged or Reading Clubs.
•Record all the required information on the College’s ALS systems and carry out any related administrative duties as required

What you will need:

•English Language at least to Level 3
•Appropriate numeracy and IT qualifications up to at least Level 2.
•Evidence of a good general education
•Degree level

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

•Well-developed written and oral communication skills up to level 2 in English.
•Interpersonal and communication skills of a high order which are acceptable to a range of staff, students, stakeholders and visitors to the College.
•Experience of working in a FE environment, particularly with students aged 14+ years.
•Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
•Excellent Word and Excel skills.
