This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take on a dynamic and challenging role within the Financial Crime Prevention sector, with a focus on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT).

As the Senior Compliance Asociate, you will be supporting the team in putting into action supervisory plans and other strategic projects. You’ll be expected to plan and carry out compliance examinations to check whether subject persons are meeting their AML/CFT obligations and whether their internal controls are strong enough to manage money laundering and terrorism financing risks. You’ll also be responsible for analysing the results of these examinations, writing up clear and accurate reports, and reviewing the work of other team members to make sure everything meets the required standards.

You’ll take part in internal committees, contribute to discussions on findings, and work closely with national authorities like the Malta Financial Services Authority, Malta Gaming Authority, Sanctions Monitoring Board, and others. The role also includes helping subject persons set up proper AML/CFT systems, supporting risk assessments and follow-ups, and contributing to training sessions for both internal staff and external stakeholders.

To be considered for this role, you’ll need either a University degree at MQF Level 6 with at least four years of relevant experience, or a Diploma at MQF Level 5 with five years of experience in audit, banking and finance, risk management, economics, law, or a similar field. You should have a solid understanding of Malta’s AML/CFT laws, EU legislation, and international standards. Experience in AML/CFT checks, audits, or report writing, with strong analytical skills and excellent communication in English.
